Video update: December 18
It took two days after approximately 20 inches of snow fell on Jerusalem for the buses to begin running and most stores to open. Cabs braved the ice and snow from the start. The following 4-minute video highlights the typical calm Israeli demeanor brought to bear during the day-after thaw.

Jerusalem was hit yesterday with what is being called a “100 -year event ” snowstorm. The video was taken as it began; the photos at the end of the following day, during the “thaw.” Temperatures dipped below freezing, the wind blew something fierce and yes, it’s been cold.

Oh how I miss Mitudela Street. Thank you for the video of my favorite street in Jerusalem and my favorite building. Love you both and wish I was there. I was thinking Penn-e is looking down from Heaven thinking, ‘my daddy must be really happy that we don’t have to walk out in that snow.’
This would have been a real challenge for Li’l Penn_E, Sandy. After the second wave of snowfall we would have had to teach her to ski or hold her over the merpeset to do her business. I have not seen an official “depth” estimate but both days combined might have come close, +/-, to 20 inches. The sun is out today and we are going to finally see temperatures above freezing again. 🙂
It is beautiful! Snow falling is so peaceful. Bring back memories of life in the states? We wish you both a joyous and blessed Christmas!
Greg asked about global warming……
Although cold there, May your hearts be warmed by the Truth of Messiah’s Coming!
Blessings for a wonderful Christmas and a joyous New Year. Glad you got to enjoy a little of the “White Christmas”, but hope it hasn’t been too much of a mess.
I know it is but it is beautiful too!
